Frank Kristek, 94, of Verona died on Fri. Oct. 5, 2012 in Mercy Hospital in Aurora after a year-long battle with bone marrow failure.
He was born to John and Agnes Kristek on May 23, 1918 in Pierce City, MO.
Frank served in World War II in North Africa, France and Italy. He retired from Con Agra Foods in 1993. Frank loved outdoor work and was known for his exceptional physical strength and devotion to his family and church. For many years, Frank was the first to volunteer for anything that needed to be done at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Verona.
Survivors include his wife, Anna May Kristek; one brother, Ed Kristek; one sister, Rosemary Schmidt; his step-son, Clarence Lee; two grandchildren, Heather and Chad Lee; and three great-grandchildren, Jared Lee, Jacob Lee and Isabella Lee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Al Kristek and Leonard Kristek; and two sisters, Martha Titcher and Josephine Brock.
Funeral Mass will be held Wed. Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
A wake service will be held Tues. at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
