The Monett Lady Cubs volleyball team (3-15), fell 25-17, 25-9 to the Seneca Lady Indians (2-12) on Oct. 2.

Monett battled hard in the first set, erasing a 10-7 deficit and took a brief 13-12 lead. Seneca rallied with a 13-4 run to claim the match 25-17.

"The girls came out and battled really hard in the first set," said Monett coach Crystal Shannon. "We had too many unforced hitting errors which flipped momentum into Seneca's favor and we couldn't get back in the game."

The Lady Cubs committed 18 hitting errors, which allowed the Lady Indians to win the first set and jump out to an 8-1 lead in the second.

Monett was unable to stop the bleeding and fell 25-9.

The Lady Cubs will be in action tonight at Aurora. Matches are set to begin at 5 p.m.
