Lois Ella Dawn, age 73, of Monett, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Mo., following a short illness. Lois was born on June 17, 1939 in Purdy, Mo., daughter of Deleo Dawn and Loraine (Morlan) Dawn.
Lois graduated from Purdy High School in 1957. She was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed embroidery and needle work. She had worked at Tyson Foods, the garment factory and the shoe factory, retiring in 2000.
Lois is survived by her mother, Loraine Dawn, of Monett; one sister, Nadine Horner and husband, Ted, of Forsyth, Mo.; two nephews, Jimmie Horner and wife, Pam, and Johnny Horner and wife, Kathy; one niece, Wilma Harpole and husband, John; one great-nephew, Logan Horner; and one great-niece, Charity Horner. She was preceded in death by her father, Deleo Dawn; and one sister, Martha Sue Dawn.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 at the Arnhart Cemetery in Purdy with Reverend Lee Neill officiating.
