The Lawrence County Health Department has flu vaccine available for children age 6 months to 18 years old who reside in Lawrence County. There is a $10 charge. Flu shots and flu mist in a nasal spray is available. Vaccinations are available Monday to Wednesday from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m., as well as 4 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 4. The Monett Police Department, with the assistance of the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department and other agencies, will conduct a sobriety checkpoint before Oct. 1. The Monett Police Department takes a strong stance against drunk driving and makes the safety of the Monett citizens, as well as all of the motoring public, their top priority.
