Pierce City splits volleyball matches

The Pierce City Lady Eagles volleyball team split matches with Crane and College Heights this week.

On Sept. 17 Pierce City downed Crane 25-15, 25-15.

The Lady Eagles were led by Christine Younker with nine kills and two blocks. Brianna Zebert had 17 assists and seven digs.

On Sept. 18 Pierce City fell 25-15, 25-20 to College Heights.

Younker had six kills, and Becca Hatfield added two aces. Krishna Merriman recorded 11 digs and four blocks and Zebert finished with 11 assists.

The Lady Eagles will be in action in the Carl Junction Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 22.
