Carthage-Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction 9/19/12

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold 2.00-3.00 lower and slaughter
bulls sold 3.00 lower. The offering included a moderate supply of bred cows and
a light supply of cow/calf pairs. A couple small dispersals provided some good
quality take home cows. Recent rains and cooler weather have allowed the fescue
that survived the drought to begin greening up across the area. Supply and
demand were moderate for slaughter classes.

Medium and Large 2  2 yr 900 lb cow w/baby calf 1200.00. Medium 1-2  2-6 yrs
900-1010 lb cows w/140-185 lb calves and a few rebred 1075.00-1175.00 per pair.
