Carthage-Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction 9/12/12

   Compared to last Wednesday, the bulk of slaughter cows sold 2.00-3.00
higher with a few high-dressing 4.00-5.00 higher and slaughter bulls sold
2.00-3.00 higher. An additional slaughter buyer on hand today strengthened
that market. The offering included a moderate supply of bred cows and a light
supply of cow/calf pairs. Supply was heavy and demand good for slaughter
classes.

   Bred Cows:  Medium and Large 1-2  2 yrs to short and solid mouth 2nd and
3rd stage 1060-1365 lbs most 1050.00-1250.00, few 3rd stage 1275.00-1350.00,
1st stage 1070-1300 lbs most 900.00-1150.00, couple blacks 1175.00&1200.00,
several pkgs. 1 1/2 yrs 815-895 lbs 995.00-1065.00; short and solid mouth to
aged 2nd and 3rd stage 1095-1340 lbs 865.00-1060.00. Large 1-2  4 yrs to short
