   Compared to two weeks ago, breaking and boning slaughter cows sold 3.00-
4.00 higher while lean cows and slaughter bulls sold 2.00-3.00 higher. Most
of the offering went to slaughter. High feed costs have caused dairymen to
cull harder and dairy cows made up a major portion of the offering. The offer-
ing of bred cows and cow/calf pairs was light. Most of the area has received
enough moisture to give some of the fall seeded forages a start. Supply was
heavy and demand good for slaughter classes.

w/440 lb calves and all cows rebred 1625.00. Large 1-2  7 yrs to broken mouth
pkg. 1400 lb cows w/175-315 lb calves 1260.00. Medium and Large 2  6 yr 1205 lb
cow w/140 lb calf 1000.00. Medium 1-2  2yrs to short and solid mouth 815-895 lb
cows w/110-325 lb calves and a few rebred 950.00-1125.00 per pair.
