A benefit fried chicken dinner for the Jenny Garner Student Memorial in Pierce City will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Pierce City Senior Center, 104 N. Locust. Cost is $7 per person and $3 for children 10 and under.

A truck and tractor pull, sponsored by the Freistatt Fire Department, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Ernte Fest grounds in Freistatt. There will be a kids pull at 5 p.m. and a tractor pull at 6 p.m. Admission is $10 and free to children 12 and under. Proceeds benefit the Freistatt Fire Department.

An interactive kids' indoor cycling program will start on Monday, Sept. 10 at Cox Monett Hospital. Kids can play a video game and exercise at the same time. Classes are offered from 4 to 5 p.m. on Mondays and 4 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays. Children must be four foot, 11 inches to fit the bike. For more information, call Lauren at 236-2596.

A spaghetti dinner will be hosted by American Legion Post #91 on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12, The cost includes salad, dessert and beverage. The Post is located at 717 E. Broadway.

Registration is underway for Neosho's Patriot Day Parade on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 10:30 a.m. Bands, clubs, veterans groups, businesses and individuals are welcome to participate. For more information, call the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce at 417-451-1925.

Entries are being accepted for the Aurora Chamber of Commerce's annual Little Miss and Mister Houn Dawg and Little Miss and Mister Beagle pageant for children ages 4 to 10 on Saturday, Sept. 15, at Pate School Auditorium. Entries must reside in Lawrence, Barry or Stone counties. Deadline for entries is Sept. 10. Applications are available at the chamber office.

Habitat for Humanity, the Monett/Purdy affiliate, will have a board meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the First Christian Church, located at Fourth and Wishart. Plans for the dedication of house #6 will be discussed.

The Monett Band Boosters will have a tailgate from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, just west of the main entrance to Burl Fowler Stadium. Hamburgers with chips, potato salad, cookies and a drink will be available for $5 or a hot dog meal for $4.

The Mt. Vernon Veterans Home will host its ninth annual Ride for Freedom to benefit veterans assisted by the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association 4-3. The motorcycle poker run will travel approximately 115 miles, leaving the Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22. Purdy Elementary School will celebrate Grandparents' Day on Friday, Sept. 14, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Grandparents and other "special guests" are invited to visit their grandchildren's classrooms for fun activities, refreshments and memory-making opportunities. The Scott Regional Technical Center Adult Education Zumba class will begin on Thursday, Sept. 13, from 6 to 7 p.m. This is a new date. For more information, call 235-8356

Plans are underway for a reunion of students who graduated or would have graduated from Pierce City or McAuley High Schools from 1960 through 1971. The reunion will be held on Sept. 21 and 22 in Pierce City. For additional information, contact Jim Larkin at 476-2436.
