The Monett Special Road District commissioners will meet at 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, in the conference room at Monett City Hall, located at 217 Fifth St.

The third annual Community Country Fun Fair will be held beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Berean Christian School, east of Monett on Highway 60.

A special patriotic service honoring the late Army Specialist Christopher Stark, of Monett, will be held by Tom Wolfe Memorial Post #4207, Veterans of Foreign Wars, at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9 at the Monett Community Church, 2101 E. Cleveland. The public is welcome to attend.

The Not So Square Festival in Mt. Vernon will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Marc, 822 W. Mt. Vernon Blvd. Artists booths are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with more than 50 booths staffed by painters, potters, authors, photographers and artisans. Admission is free.

A basic life support/healthcare provider CPR course, taught by Shane Anderson of the Monett Fire Department, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Monett police station. Cost is $40. Reservations can be made by calling Anderson at 417-489-4554.

Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt will celebrate Missouri Festival on Sunday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. Rev. David Andrus, executive director of the Lutheran Missouri for the Blind and Visually Impaired Persons, will deliver the message and speak after the basket dinner that will follow in the fellowship hall.

Chief Sarcoxie Days will be held Sept. 6 through Sept. 8 in the Sarcoxie square. The celebration includes a carnival, baby contest and a parade on Saturday. Crafts booths will be on hand. For information, call 417-592-8901.

The Verona Athletic Booster Club will host a benefit garage sale, beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, in the Verona High School cafeteria.

An interactive kids' indoor cycling program will start on Monday, Sept. 10 at Cox Monett Hospital. Kids can play a video game and exercise at the same time. Classes are offered from 4 to 5 p.m. on Mondays and 4 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays. For more information, call Lauren Holland at 236-2596. Children must meet height requirements.

Pastor Thomas Buckley from the Judah Worship Center in Yukon, Okla., will speak to teens in a special service at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Harvest Fellowship Church, 21172 Farm Road 1200 in rural Aurora. Buckley will also speak at the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday.

A blood drive for Community Blood Centers of the Ozarks will be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, at the American Legion Home, 717 E. Broadway in Monett, and from 1 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at St. Mary's Catholic School in Pierce City.

Wheaton United Methodist Women are sponsoring an Esther's Closet for all area women on Saturday, Sept. 8. Esther's Closet is a temporary boutique where women can acquire clothing, jewelry, shoes and toiletries for free. The church is located at 101 Santee St. in Wheaton, two blocks east of the Fast Trip.
