"It wasn't the way we wanted to start the game," said Monett coach Ty Goetz. "We took too long to make adjustments at the plate and Cassville got out in front. We were fortunate to come back for the victory."
The Lady Wildcats drew first blood in the first inning.
Cassville doubled the lead in the third inning when Kelsey Baker singled with one out to right field. Jamieson blasted a triple into the left-center gap, lifting the Lady Wildcats to a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Cubs roared back to tie the game in the home half of the third.
Jessica Harper got the hit parade started with a one-out single. Allie Krueger and Raigan Ratliff followed with singles to load the bases. With two outs, on a two ball, two strike count, Kelsey Wisemen singled and drove in the equalizing pair of runs.
"Clutch hitting is the name of this game," said Goetz. "Kelsey came up with a big hit, in a big spot for our girls."
Cassville tried to answer, getting two runners on in the fourth inning but struggled to get the key hit to drive them home.
Monett added a pair of runs in the fourth inning to take the lead for good with production from the bottom of its order.
Andrea Soriano and Brooke Madison each singled to open the frame. Soriano scored on Haylee Morris's sacrifice single and Madison scored on Harper's fielder's choice.
Ratliff shut down the Lady Wildcats hitters in the eight of the last nine she faced. Ratliff pitched seven innings, allowed one earned run and struck out seven.
Cassville's Taylor Wolfe took the loss. She allowed five earned runs and struck out two.
