Milton Fulp
Milton Eugene, "Gene" Fulp, of Springfield, formerly of Aurora, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 26, 2012. Gene was born May 13, 1931, to Juanita (Hilton) and Charles Ted (Johnny) Fulp. He attended Aurora schools, graduating with the class of 1949.

Gene was a life-long member of the First Christian Church of Aurora, and since moving to Springfield, also attended South Street Christian Church. He was a United States Marine Corp Veteran, having served in the Korean War, receiving an honorable discharge as a corporal in May of 1952.

Upon Gene's return from Korea, he was united in marriage to Joyce Patricia Means, of Monett. He enjoyed his career and retired from Empire District Electric Company of Joplin, Mo., and after retirement, Gene was employed for several years at the M.G.H. Performing Arts Theatre of Branson. He was a member of the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department for many years and shared in various community involvements.

His brother, Jerry Dan Fulp, preceded Gene in death.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Patricia Fulp; sons, Rick Fulp and his wife, Joyce, Rob Fulp and his wife, Cindy; daughter, Tresa Cawood and her husband, Marc, all of Springfield; grandchildren, Jason Fulp, of Kansas City, Mo., Lauren Fulp Lipscomb and husband, Stuart, Robert Fulp and Jonathan Fulp, of Springfield; step-granddaughter, Tammy Baker and her husband, Mark; three step-great-granddaughters; sister-in-law, Wenoka Fulp; nieces, Kristy Harrell and her husband, Robert, and Jami Fulp; great nephew, Jared Harrell, all of Monett, and several cousins.

A special "thank you" to Hospice Compassus, especially his nurse Kaylene.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks (BCFO), 330 N. Jefferson, Springfield, MO 65806, or Hospice Compassus, 1465 E. Primrose, Springfield, MO 65804.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at the First Christian Church of Aurora, Mo. Burial will be immediately following at the IOOF Cemetery in Monett, Mo.
