Evelyn (Goulbourne) Carlson, age 87, of Monett, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo. Evelyn was born on April 19, 1925 in Liverpool, England, daughter of James Goulbourne and Elizabeth Anne (Hose) Goulbourne.
She married Carl H. Carlson on Oct. 3, 1945 in the Balliol Road Methodist Church in Liverpool, England, after the end of World War II. They then came to America and started their family.
They had seven children, twins, Edwin and Edward, Carol, Leslie, Elizabeth, Evelyn and Frank. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elizabeth Anne Goulbourne; her husband, Carl H. Carlson, on Nov. 14, 1987; son-in-law, Larry Wallace; grandson, Shawn Wallace; two sisters, Nancy and Dolly; and one brother, Jimmy.
She is survived by her seven children, Edwin Carlson and wife, Marilyn, Edward Carlson and wife, Ann, all of Cheyenne, Wyo., Carol Carlson, of Monett, Leslie Carlson and wife, Pat, of Adair, Okla., Elizabeth Marshall and husband, Floyd, of Monett, Evelyn Stewart, of Freistatt, Mo. and Frank Carlson and wife, Candy, of Burkburnett, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margie Wilson, of Liverpool, England.
Funeral services for Mrs. Carlson will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 at the Buchanan Funeral Home Chapel in Monett with Chaplain Roger Hasselquist officiating. Interment will be in the Oakdale Cemetery. The family invites friends for a visitation on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, Mo.
