The bridge deck will be replaced on the Highway 39 bridge over Table Rock Lake in Shell Knob. Traffic will be reduced to one lane during the week of Sept. 4. Crews will begin installing a containment system underneath the bridge to keep debris from falling into the lake and barrier along the center of the bridge. Work will be done by Memorial Day 2013.

The Miller Fall Festival will be held Aug. 29 through Sept. 1 in downtown Miller. There will be games and live entertainment nightly. The parade will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1. Participants should gather at 12:30 p.m. at the high school.

Tickets are now on sale for the Taste of Home Cooking School on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Civic Auditorium in Neosho. Culinary specialist Guy Klinzing will lead the program. Tickets are $12. For more information, contact the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce at 417-451-1925.

The Scott Regional Technical Center Adult Education Zumba class will begin on Thursday, Sept. 13, from 6 to 7 p.m. This is a new date. For more information, call 235-8356.

Jack Henry and Associates has announced a quarterly cash dividend of $.115 per share on common stock, par value of $.01 per share. The dividend is payable on Sept. 28 to stockholders of record as of Sept. 7.

A luncheon will be hosted by Tom Wolfe Memorial Post #4207, Veterans of Foreign Wars, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5. The menu will include beef stroganoff, egg noodles, green beans, salads, dessert and beverage for $6. The Post is located on Highway 60, west of Monett.

The Verona Athletic Booster Club will host a benefit garage sale, beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, in the Verona High School cafeteria. Proceeds will benefit Verona High School athletics.

A Monett High School parent support meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 29 in the high school commons area. Upcoming student events will be discussed. Parents are encouraged to attend.

The Southwest Missouri Tea Party will meet at noon on Thursday, Aug. 30, at the American Legion Post, Highway 76 in Cassville. Frank Herbert will present the program. State Senate candidate David Sater will be the guest speaker and will take questions from the audience.

A free gospel music concert featuring Steve Hess and Southern Salvation will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 700 E. Sycamore in Monett. Hess is the nephew of gospel Hall of Fame member Jake Hess.

OACAC Head Start in Monett is now accepting applications for sessions beginning in September. Full or half-day registration is underway for Neosho's sessions are available. Families must meet income guidelines and have children who are age 3 or 4 prior to Aug. 1. For information, call 235-3911 or 235-8779.

Plans are underway for a reunion of students who graduated or would have graduated from Pierce City or McAuley High Schools from 1960 through 1971. The reunion will be held on Sept. 21 and 22 in Pierce City. For additional information, contact Jim Larkin at 476-2436.

The descendants of John and Tina (Doty) Hall will hold their annual Hall family reunion on Sept. 2 at the fellowship hall of the Verona Baptist Church. A buffet-style covered dish lunch is scheduled for approximately 1:30 p.m. All family members and friends are invited to attend.
