The annual Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LMWL) Ladies Aid salad supper was held on Aug. 2 in the fellowship hall of Trinity Lutheran School in Freistatt.
Judy Ledhe, president, welcomed 13 members and 10 guests.
Ledhe introduced Edith Harmon, who gave the worship based on Matthew, "Go ye therefore and make fishers of men." The hymn, "Hark, the Voice of Jesus Crying," was sung.
Harmon distributed copies of Leviticus 26:3-4, "If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them then I will send you rain in its season," because the area is in need of rain.
After the table prayer, members and guests enjoyed the variety of offerings for the salad dinner. Members of the executive board and Harmon were hostesses for the event. Ruth Bremer provided the decorated cake and the executive board provided refreshments.
Connie Prater and Harmon were delegates to the recent LMWL convention in St. Charles. A thank-you note from Prater was read. She was unable to attend the salad dinner. Harmon thanked the ladies who sponsored her at the convention and gave an informative report on the event's highlights.
Members sang the birthday song in observance of those having August birthdays, Laura Aufdembrink and Ledhe. The regular offering was taken. Mites will be collected at the September meeting.
Members attending the event were: Dorothy Osterloh, Erna May Doss, Esther Kleiboeker, Mabel Moennig, Judy Krueger, Shirley Stanford, Doris Meyer, Evelyn Bracht, Nadine Obermann, Marge Harris, Lena Bremer, Harmon and Ledhe.
Guests attending the event were: Erna Schoen, Bonnie Worm, Delphine Hesemann, Joan Farmer, Helen Johnson, Delphine Mueller, Margaret Lindeman, Phyllis Hefner, Loretta Pennington and Thelma Barnes.
