William Andrew "Andy" Branch II, age 64, of Monett, MO, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 24, 2012, in Monett.

Andy was born on January 7, 1948, in Jonesboro, Ark., the son of the late Walter Johnson "Bud" Branch and Christene (Barton) Branch. He graduated from Paragould High School in Paragould, Ark. with the Class of 1966. Andy served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a combat infantryman and hero to many.

Andy was an inspiration and had many passions in life including mowing, wood carving, reading the Bible, and mostly, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monett and was a board member for Crosslines. Andy retired in 2001 as a computer programmer and consultant.

Andy is survived by his wife, Ann Persons Branch, who he wed on January 14, 1984, in Capistrano Beach, CA. Andy's life and legacy will be celebrated by his surviving sons, William Persons Branch and his wife, Gina, of Springfield, Mo., and Walter Johnson Branch II, and wife Cassie of Monett, Mo.; his two daughters, Alyson Pressley and her husband Scott, and Britt J Branch, all of Phillips Ranch, Calif. Andy is survived by two sisters, Kim Smith and husband Jerry, of Little Rock, Ark. and Lynn Holzhauer and husband Jody, of Gillett, Ark.; six grandchildren, Payton and Killian Pressley, Aidan, Addison, Jack and June Branch; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Branch will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Monett with Dr. Bill Cox officiating. Interment and military honors will be at the Oakdale Cemetery, Monett.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the personal care of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, Mo.
