The driver of a motorized bicycle was hurt in a collision with a car on Sunday in Aurora.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Guy Newton, 30, of Aurora, was driving a Baja Dirt Bug at 4:41 a.m. on West Pleasant Street in Aurora. Newton was being actively pursued by Brandon Hartsell, 34, of Republic, in a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria. The car struck the rear end of the bike, ejecting Newton.
Newton, who was not wearing a safety device, received minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital-Aurora for treatment. Hartsell was unhurt.
* A Cassville woman was hurt in a one-vehicle crash at 6 a.m. on Sunday on Highway 76. Sheryl Martin, 48, was driving west a quarter mile east of Cassville when her 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveled off the left side of the road, struck a culvert and overturned. Martin was not wearing a safety belt. She received moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
