The 24th annual Pierce City Car Show is slated to begin with registration at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, at South Park in Pierce City. Registration continues until noon.
The top 75 vehicles in the show will receive a trophy. In addition, there will be six specialty trophies awarded for top points categories.
This year a special class for car owners under the age of 21, the "Lunch Money Class," will see first, second and third place prizes for qualifying entries.
New this year is the motorcycle class, with any make or model with a 50cc engine or above qualifying for the event.
Kevin and Rhonda Hatfield have been managing the car show for 21 years and look forward to moving the location back to the city park.
"We feel it is more comfortable for car owners to be off the asphalt and in the grass, under the shade of the trees," said Kevin Hatfield. "We did have to change the weekend, but are looking forward to having the show in the park again."
Each year, a different school or community group is chosen to help run the show and receive a portion of the profits. This year, Pierce City High School Project Graduation will help in sponsoring the event.
"There will be food, a silent auction, T-shirts, a 50/50 drawing, music and photo opportunities for car owners," Hatfield said.
There is a $15 registration fee.
