Helen Ruth Brown, 86, of Monett, formerly of Purdy, passed away on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at her home in Monett. She was born on Sept. 1, 1925 in Pierce City, Mo., the daughter of the late Clarence and Nannie (Roark) Box. She was united in marriage on Jan. 14, 1949 in Berryville, Ark. to Ethel Abraham Brown, he preceded her in death on April 25, 1994.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church in Purdy, Mo.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Glenna Brown, Purdy, and Becky Brown, Monett; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, Clarence and Nannie; husband, Ethel; three brothers, Darrell Box, Alfred Box, and Ronald Box; and one sister, Edith Eden.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Mo. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Chapel in Monett, Mo. with Rev. Terry LaSalle and Rev. Lee Neill officiating. Burial will follow services at Bethel Cemetery in Monett.
