Matt Ticknor was the guest speaker at the July meeting of the Dorcas Ladies Aid in Freistatt.
Ticknor gave a presentation on his recent visit to El Salvador as a volunteer with Thrivent Builds for Habitat for Humanity. Ticknor helped dig the foundation for a new home for one of the families. Ticknor and other team members also visited several other homes in the community that had been built by Thrivent and Habitat. He said he plans to return again as a volunteer.
Ruth Nelson presented the worship, "Freedom is not free" in honor of Independence Day. Members sang "God Bless Our Native Land."
Nadine Obermann conducted the Mite Box ingathering.
Connie Prater and Edith Harmon sent cards thanking the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LMWL) for sponsoring them at the convention in St. Charles. While there, the ladies visited Pearl Lampe.
Members signed a birthday card for Esther Holle. The birthday song was sung for Janice Meyer, Gloria Krueger and Holle.
Grace Doss and Ethel Helmkamp were visitors for June and reported visiting five members.
July visitors are Doris and Orville Meyer.
Judy Lehde thanked hostesses Linda Jelinek and Janie Doss.
The meeting closed with the Lord's Prayer.
