IDF has been recognized for its support of the disabled by The Arc of the Ozarks.

The Employment Solutions Division of The Arc of the Ozarks honored IDF for its "outstanding support of individuals with disabilities" as the group's "Employer of the Year." The recognition was announced during at the Arc's annual banquet held on June 23 at the Oasis Convention Center in Springfield.

IDF has contracted Employment Solutions services for janitorial service since December 2003, and over the past eight years, 25 individuals representing The Arc have worked on the IDF crew.

"IDF goes out of their way to make the crew members feel like part of the IDF team," said Jean Hicks, employment solutions coordinator for The Arc of the Ozarks. "Every year IDF invites the work crew to their Christmas banquet and always makes sure that all of the crew members receive a gift card and IDF appreciation gift."

IDF has awarded three Arc crew members, John Whiting, David Herr and Wayne Pearson, with five-year service pins In addition, the crew is also invited to other social events sponsored by IDF.

"IDF communicates well with The Arc to help resolve any issues that may arise or to make accommodations," continued Hicks. "We feel that IDF sets themselves apart from other companies in the community by using The Arc as their sole cleaning source. We are very fortunate to be a part of such a great team and appreciate that everyone makes us feel like part of the IDF family."

Mike Scabarozi, IDF's vice president of manufacturing, expressed his pleasure at being selected for the "Employer of the Year" award.

"We are very satisfied with our working relationship with the Arc organization and certainly with the ARC crew members that provide our janitorial service," said Scabarozi.

Regina Bowsher has served as the IDF contact with the Arc crew for the past five years, and she appreciates the service provided and the organization's responsiveness to needs and concerns.

"Arc and the crew members go out of their way to make sure their service measures up and go the extra mile when we ask them to," said Bowsher. "As an associate of IDF, I am proud that our company utilizes the Employment Solutions services, which provides employment to some of our neighbors with disabilities."
