The fiddling contest at the Purdy Festival on July 21 attracted quality performers.
Travis Inman. an 11-time Missouri state champion, from Sedalia, took first place in the open division. Gary Johnston, from Nevada, a state champion in the senior division, took second in the open division.
Edith Siegler, the Kansas state champion, took first in the youth division. Her brother, Glenn, the Oklahoma state champion, took second place.

Josh Lee and Kendra Harris, both Purdy residents, took third and fourth in the open division.
Organizer Levi Roden was impressed with the caliber of performances and hopes to build on the showing at next year's festival.
