   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold 1.00-2.00 higher and
slaughter bulls sold 2.00-3.00 higher. Dry and hot weather continues across
the area and as water sources run low, and forage supplies become more scarce
producers are pulling the trigger on reducing their herd size. Several herd
reductions and dispersals were included in the offering and a moderate number
of young bred cows and cow/calf pairs returned to the farm mostly out of the
area. Supply was heavy and demand good for slaughter classes.

most 84.00-100.00, some light weights 105.00-110.00; 3-6 yrs 922-1115 lbs

   Bred Cows:  Medium and Large 1-2  2 yrs to short and solid mouth 2nd and
3rd stage 1075-1350 lbs most 875.00-1100.00, better quality from dispersals
and herd reductions 1150.00-1250.00, 1st stage 1125-1300 lbs 850.00-925.00;
few short and solid mouth to aged 3rd stage 1115-1200 lbs 770.00-830.00. Large
1-2  5-7 yrs 3rd stage 1400-1420 lbs 1020.00-1065.00. Medium and Large 2  6 yr
3rd stage 1100 lb indiv. 700.00. Medium 1-2  5 yrs to short and solid mouth

cows w/baby calves 975.00. Medium and Large 2  4 yrs to short and solid mouth
1060-1075 lb cows w/baby calves 850.00-1000.00. Medium 1-2  4 yrs to short and
solid mouth 1020-1050 lb cows w/babies to 160 lb calves 925.00-1025.00 per pair.
