Meredith Willson's beloved musical about rural Mid-America, "The Music Man," is the next show to be presented by the Rebel's Bluff Troupe in Mt. Vernon. The show will be presented Friday through Sunday, Aug. 10 through 12, at the Mt. Vernon Arts and Recreation Center (The Marc).
Tickets are available for the show alone for $10 or in a dinner theater format for $25 on Friday and Saturday. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Shows are at 7:15 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Set in the idyllic Iowa town of River City around 1920, "The Music Man" tells the story of a traveling music salesman whose effort to con a town into buying lots of musical instruments becomes sincere when he falls in love with the town librarian and the children come to believe in the power of music.
