Annual Jaycees Carnival

Friday, July 20, 2012

With a mighty whack, Jaida Worm, 8, sent a stuffed frog hurtling into the air on the leap frog game at the Jaycees Carnival on Wednesday.

Crowds turned out despite the heat on Wednesday evening for the opening of the Jaycees carnival at Monett's South Park. It was a bumpy start for Monett's annual mid-summer event. The Ferris wheel ground to a halt and needed an overnight repair. Firefighters were rescheduled to fill the dunk tank and set up the water games for the rest of the carnival's run, which ends Saturday night. [Order this photo]

Enjoying her spin on the rocket ride was Yoeli Davis, at right. Logan McCully, who barely still fit in the seat, stuffed himself into the rocket at left to take advantage of free ride night on Wednesday at the Jaycees carnival. [Order this photo]
