Carthage-Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction 7/18/12

   Compared to last Wednesday, the bulk of slaughter cows sold 5.00-7.00
lower with some instances 8.00 lower and slaughter bulls sold 4.00-5.00
lower. Slaughter buyers report having more than enough cows at their dis-
posal as a result of drought conditions throughout much of the country.
Most of the barn talk today centered around triple digit temperatures, no
rainfall and diminishing forage supplies in the area. Supply was moderate
and demand light for slaughter classes.
