Sign-ups for Monett Mighty Mite football and cheerleaders will be held July 23 through July 26 at the field house at Burl Fowler Stadium from 5 through 7 p.m. For more information, call Sean Kelley at 235-9700. The first game will be on Sept. 1.

The Kings Prairie Special Road District commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, at Grant's restaurant in Monett.

The Local Emergency Planning District (LEPD) for Barry and Lawrence counties will meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 19 at the Monett Justice Center, 1901 E. Cleveland. Plans for an exercise will be made, reports given and a roundtable discussion held.

The Kevin Phillips Singers will perform at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, at the Church of the Nazarene in Cassville, on North Highway 37, beside Crowder College.

The 637th Lawrence County Gospel Sing will be held at 2 p.m. at the Buck Prairie Baptist Church. Singers and musicians are welcome. The church is located south of Marionville on Farm Road 1230.

Singer Liz Moriando, of Mt. Vernon, who has performed at Ernte Fest, has her song "Down A Backroad" entered in a contest to be used in a Dodge commercial. Voting runs through July 30 under the country category at www.facebook.com/#!/dodge/app_3211817579....

The Ebenezer Baptist Church, north of Monett, will hold Vacation Bible School July 30 through Aug. 3 with the theme "Amazing Wonders Aviation." Sessions will be from 6:30 to 8:40 p.m. The church is located two miles north of Business Highway 60 on Chapell Drive (Farm Road 1090).

The Monett Fundamental Methodist Church, located at 810 Park St., will have a special song service featuring the Joy Singers at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 28. Former Monettan Mark Hemphill is a member of the group. For more information, call 235-5351.

Community Blood Centers of the Ozarks will hold a blood drive in Mt. Vernon on Monday, July 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schreiber Foods, 108 W. North Street.

A rabies clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 21, at the South Park in Pierce City, at the west pavilion, sponsored by the Animal Clinic of Monett and the Pierce City Police Department. Cost is $7.50 per animal.

A fall girls fastpitch hitting league will be held on Saturdays at Monett North Park from Aug. 4 through Sept. 8. There will be divisions for grades five through eight and grades nine to 12. Each team consists of three hitters. Cost is $30 per hitter or $90 per team. For more information, call 417-342-2808 or 417-671-2569.

A spaghetti dinner will be offered by Hobbs-Anderson American Legion Post #91 from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 19 at the Legion Home, 717 E. Broadway. Cost is $5 for adults.

A luncheon will be hosted by Tom Wolfe Memorial Post #4207 Ladies Auxiliary from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18. The menu includes oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, salads, dessert and beverage for $6. The Post is located west of Monett on Highway 60.
