The stunning 1,400-piece picnic quilt and other hand-created items will be given away in a drawing at the annual picnic for St. John's Lutheran Church at Stones Prairie on Friday, July 20.

The quilt, with its Snake River log cabin pattern, was pieced by Nancy Kielblock and hand quilted by the St. John's Quilters in more than 300 hours. The afghan, at left, was crocheted by Margaret Rupp. The baby quilt, at right, was pieced by Nancy Kielblock and hand quilted by Betty Meier.

Tickets for the drawing will be available the night of the picnic for $1. The Lutheran Women's Missionary League will also have a bazaar with other tacked quilts, craft items and baked goods for sale.

The church is located northwest of Purdy.
