   Compared to last Monday, slaughter cows sold 2.00-3.00 lower and the
bulk of slaughter bulls sold 3.00 lower. A high percent of the offering went
to slaughter including many bred cows that would have gone back to the farm
three to four weeks ago. High temperatures and an extended period without
measurable rainfall has increased the number of cows coming to market as
pastures have dried up and many have begun feeding hay. The number of bred
cows and cow/calf pairs returning to the farm was light. Supply was moderate
to heavy and demand moderate for slaughter classes.
