The Monett FFA recently collected donations in front of Walmart to purchase supplies to fill shoeboxes to send to Soldiers for the 4th of July. Devon Blevins, Cassidy Franke, former FFA member Jasmine McCullough, and sponsor Tamra Sunby collected donations and then purchased a variety of personal hygiene items, snacks, puzzle books, DVDs and socks. McCullough's husband, Vincent McCullough, with the 1/7 Charley Company out of 29 Palms, Calif. is serving in Afghanistan and she had one of his uniforms on display as well as a poster with many pictures of the troops and their daily activities. The shoeboxes the FFA sends are decorated with pictures on the outside of the boxes to make them special and each box contains several letters for the troops. Monica Ballay, Willow Welters, and Devon Blevins packed each box and prepared them for shipping.
