Mocha Jo's at 404 E. Broadway in Monett will be closed on Saturdays during July and August. The coffee shop will be closed on Wednesday, July 4.

The regular weekly luncheon at Tom Wolfe Memorial Post #4207, VFW, will not be held on Wednesday, July 4. The next luncheon will be on Wednesday, July 18.

A rummage and crafts sale fundraiser for Haven of the Ozarks will be held at the Crowder College Community Center in Cassville from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, June 29, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 30. Most items will be half price on Saturday. Donations of items to help the animal shelter may be made at the Crowder campus during business hours. For more information, call 417-835-3647.

The Barry County Courthouse and Judicial Center will be closed on July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

The Monett Branch of the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library will host a "Take Home Spa" program for the adult summer reading program "Between the Covers" at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, at the library, located at Sixth and Bond streets. Attendees are invited to create a spa basket containing facial scrubs, colored bath scents and sachets. For more information, call the library at 235-6646.

The monthly dance at the Monett Senior Citizens Center will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 2. Admission is $3. The Fun Timers Band will play dance music. Those attending are encouraged to bring pot luck or finger food. The center is located at 405 Dairy St.

The Purdy Schools Alumni Association will meet on Saturday, June 30 at Purdy High School. Registration begins at 6 p.m. followed by a meal at 6:30 p.m. The annual business meeting will be conducted, including the election of a treasurer and editors for the newsletter. Scholarships will be awarded to three members of the class of 2012. All students who have been enrolled in the Purdy Schools are invited.

The local Vietnam Veterans Chapter #1023 will meet on Sunday, July 1, at 4 p.m. at Grant's restaurant in Monett, For more information, call Paula at 471-271-3835.

The Monett Alumni Association will host a get-together from noon to 8 p.m. on July 4 at the Monett City Park Casino. Refreshments will be available for a donation.

Sign-ups for Monett Mighty Mite football and cheerleaders will be held July 12 through July 14 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. Registration will begin at 6 p.m. the first two days and run 9 a.m. to noon on July 14. Sign-ups will also be taken on July 13 at football camp, at the field house, next to the practice field. Mighty Mite camp will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on July 23 through July 26. For more information, call Sean Kelley at 235-9700.

The Al-Anon Monday family group meeting is held at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays at the First Baptist Church of Pierce City, located Highway 97 north of the city, in the west wing.

The annual Wheaton barbecue will be held on Aug. 25 at the Wheaton City Park.
