Spraying for mosquitoes will take place in Monett this week from 8 p.m. to midnight, weather permitting. Spraying will take place on June 26 north of Cleveland, on June 27 between Cleveland and Highway 60, and on June 28 south of Highway 60. For more information, call 235-3495.

A rummage and crafts sale fundraiser for Haven of the Ozarks will be held at the Crowder College Community Center in Cassville from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, June 29, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 30. Most items will be half price on Saturday. Donations of items to help the animal shelter may be made at the Crowder campus during business hours. For more information, call 417-836-3647.

The Purdy Schools Alumni Association will meet on Saturday, June 30 at Purdy High School. Registration begins at 6 p.m. followed by a meal at 6:30 p.m. The annual business meeting will be conducted, including the election of a treasurer and editors for the newsletter. Scholarships will be awarded to three members of the class of 2012. All students who have been enrolled in the Purdy Schools are invited.

The local Vietnam Veterans Chapter #1023 will meet on Sunday, July 1, at 4 p.m. at Grant's restaurant in Monett, For more information, call Paula at 471-271-3835.

The Monett Alumni Association will host a get-together from noon to 8 p.m. on July 4 at the Monett City Park Casino. Refreshments will be available for a donation.

The Purdy Branch of the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library will offer a tour of the Chesapeake Fish Hatchery. Participants will gather at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27 at the library. Young people will learn about fish and conservation as and see live fish. For more information, call 417-442-7314.

The Lawrence County victims advocate program can be aided by the donation of old cell phones and chargers. Owners can keep the sim cards. Phones will be given to victims without a phone to dial 911. For more information, contact victims advocate Kim Bishop-Jones at 417-466-2131.

Sign-ups for Monett Mighty Mite football and cheerleaders will be held July 12 through July 14 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. Registration will begin at 6 p.m. the first two days and run 9 a.m. to noon on July 14. Sign-ups will also be taken on July 13 at football camp, at the field house, next to the practice field. Mighty Mite camp will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on July 23 through July 26. For more information, call Sean Kelley at 235-9700.

Community Blood Centers of the Ozarks will hold a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, at the Monett Walmart store on Highway 60, and from 7 a.m. to noon on Thursday, June 28, at the EFCO plant on Bridle Lane.

The Waldensian Presbyterian Church will hold its annual ice cream social on Thursday, June 28, beginning at 6 p.m. Homemade ice cream, pies and cakes, sandwiches and drinks will be available.

The Schoen family reunion will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, at the Ernte Fest building in Freistatt. There will be a pot luck lunch. For information, call 417-770-7272.
