Two killed in area crashes

An Aurora woman was killed in a crash that occurred at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday on Highway ZZ about three miles west of Marionville.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of a 1999 Plymouth Breeze, Jessica S. Henry, 31, of Aurora, skidded off the highway and struck an embankment. She was not wearing a seat belt.

Lawrence County Coroner Scott Lakin pronounced the victim dead at the scene at 6:52 a.m. on Tuesday. The body was taken to Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.

This is Troop D's 45th fatality crash this year.

Other wrecks

* A Shell Knob man was killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 1:19 p.m. on Tuesday on West Highway H about two miles south of Viola. The crash occurred when the driver of a 1995 Chevrolet S10, Daniel C. Clark, 52, of Shell Knob, left the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert and a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt. The victim was pronounced dead at 3:26 p.m. at Cox Hospital South in Springfield. This is Troop D's 46th fatality wreck for the year.
