Lawrence County Youth Fair

Rachel Callison, at right, of the Fire Sweep Simmentals in Verona, won champion bred-and-owned steer with her Simmental, Charlie, at the Lawrence County Youth Fair. Charlie was also the reserve champion market steer and carcass champion in his class at 1,324 pounds.

Competitors from surrounding counties joined local young people in competing at the Lawrence County Youth Fair. Brad Spencer, of Neosho, won showmanship in the swine contest, judged by Matt Brown, of Lamar.
