The New Liberty Methodist Church will have its 16th annual Ice Cream Social from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 9. Grilled food and homemade ice cream will be available, along with live gospel music. Collections for Shoeboxes for Soldiers are continuing until Saturday, June 9, for delivery by July 4. The Junior Golf League at Monett's Windmill Ridge course will begin its season on Thursday, June 7 at 9 a.m. Participants should arrive by 8:30 a.m. to sign-in, plus pay $10 to join and $5 per outing. Each player should have a personal bag and clubs. League play continues until Aug. 2. Play will be divided by age.
A CPR/First Aid course will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9 at the Monett Justice Center, 1901 E. Cleveland. Winners have been announced in the Monett Strawberry Festival baking contest. Carolyn Stellwagen received first place for her strawberry lover's pie.
