Monett's second annual Strawberry Festival will be held June 1 and 2 on Broadway in downtown Monett. The festival and carnival opens at 6 p.m. today. On Saturday, the Petite Strawberry king and queen will be crowned at 9 a.m. and the baking contest is in the morning at UMB Bank. Baked items should be dropped off by 9 a.m. Judging is 9 to 10 a.m. Baked items should be picked up by 11:30 a.m. The duck race is at 6 p.m.

The Monett High School Class of 1987 reunion will be held June 8 and June 9. Festivities start at 6:30 p.m. on June 8 at The Bayou and 11 a.m. on June 9 at Monett South Park.

A dance will be held at the Cassville Senior Center, 1111 Fair St., from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 2. The Roaring River Sounds Band will play. Finger foods are welcome. Admission is $4. For more information, call 417-847-4510.

The Monett Senior Citizens Center will host its monthly dance from 7 to 10 p.m. on Monday, June 4 at the center, 405 Dairy St. Admission is $3. The Fun Timers Band will play.

Vietnam Veterans Chapter #1023 will meet at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, at Grant's restaurant in Monett. For more information, call Paul at 471-271-3835.

The Pierce City swimming pool will open Monday, June 4.

The Monett Farmers Market will be open on Saturday, June 2, at Fourth and Front streets.

The Monett FFA Booster Club will host a craft show and fish fry on Saturday, June 2, at the Southwest Area Career Center. The craft show will begin at noon. The fish fry will run from 5 to 8 p.m. The meal price is $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 7-18. Entertainment will be by the Garbonzo Brothers Band.

Verona Sacred Heart Summerfest will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. on June 9 at the corner of Second Street and Adams.

The 25th annual St. Mary's Old-Fashioned Festival will be held on Saturday, June 2, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City. Live music will be provided from 7 to 10 p.m. on June 2. Duck races will be held in Clear Creek at 4 p.m. on June 3 with a demonstration by the Bootkickers at 5 p.m. Events start at 5 p.m. on June 2 and 11 a.m. on June 3. A business expo will be held at the Barry County Museum, sponsored by the Barry County Small Business Owners Network from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 2. There will be demonstrations and live music. For more information, call 417-847-2484.

Highway 37 in Washburn will be closed at Farm Road 2240 from June 1 through June 4 for intersection reconstruction.

An Al-Anon family group meeting is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 4, at the First Baptist Church in Pierce City.
