Bobby Bible

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Bobby Lee Bible, age 21, a lifetime resident of Stotts City, Mo., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 25, 2012 while at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo., following a courageous battle with muscular dystrophy.

Bobby was born on Oct. 23, 1990 in Joplin, Mo., the loving son of Robert Bible and Jana (Hoffman) Bible. He received his education from Pierce City Schools, graduating with the class of 2009. He was a member of the National Honor Society, was in Vo-Tech, and enjoyed having fun at the school dances.

Bobby was currently attending Crowder College and was within just a few credit hours of receiving his degree in graphic design. He was also very involved with the MDA telethons. A few of Bobby's greatest joys in life was NASCAR and fishing. After meeting Jeff Gordon in 2001 while at the Kansas Speedway, Bobby was his #1 fan. He was also a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene.

Bobby made a difference in life no matter where he was or how he felt. Even after his own life had ended, Bobby was still helping others, as he was an organ donor.

Bobby is survived by his father, Robert Bible; his mother, Jana (Hoffman) Bible; his sister, Ashley Bible; paternal grandmother, Joyce Bible, all of Stotts City; maternal grandfather, Stanley Hoffman, of Purdy, Mo.; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Bobby Gene Bible; and maternal grandmother, Shirley Hoffman.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Church of the Nazarene, in Monett, with Reverend Noel George and Reverend Chris Carver officiating. Interment was held in the Pierce City Cemetery. In memory of Bobby, memorial contributions can be made to the MDA in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, Mo.
