A Memorial Day service will held by Tom Wolfe Memorial Post #4207, Veterans of Foreign Wars, at noon on Monday, May 28, at the gravesite of Tom Wolfe at the Monett IOOF cemetery. The public is welcome.

The 25th annual St. Mary's Old-Fashioned Festival will be held on Saturday, June 2, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City. Live music will be provided from 7 to 10 p.m. on June 2. Duck races will be held in Clear Creek at 4 p.m. on June 3 with a demonstration by the Bootkickers at 5 p.m. The hamburgers and sausage stand will run both days and a chicken or beef dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 3. Events start at 5 p.m. on June 2 and 11 a.m. on June 3. For more information, call 476-2827.

The annual meeting of the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 26 at the Mt. Pleasant Church. All persons interested in the cemetery are urged to attend.

The Bethel Cemetery Association will hold is three-times-a-year memorial service and business meeting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 27 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Purdy. Memorial contributions will be collected at the cemetery beginning on Friday afternoon, May 25, through Monday, May 28. Donations can be sent to Larry Lowery, 217 Fourth St., Monett MO 65708.

The annual meeting of the Calton Cemetery Association will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 28 on the cemetery grounds in rural Barry County.

The Clay Hill Cemetery Association will have its annual meeting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, at the Clay Hill Cemetery. All flowers need to be removed by Sunday June 17.

The Leann Cemetery Association annual meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, at the cemetery, south of Aurora. Financial records report, election of directors, and comments from the public are on the agenda. The Arnhart Cemetery Association requests all flowers placed for Memorial Day be removed by June 11 to aid mowing.

The Dogwood Trail Garden Club of Shell Knob will hold hits annual Flower Show from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 2 at the Shell Knob Community Building. Admission is free.

Registration is underway for the third annual Fun in the Sun Festival in Aurora on June 2 at Oak Park. Spaces 10-by-10 feet are available with and without electricity. Deadline is May 23. For more information, call 417-229-2430.

The Buddy Poppy drive will be held on Friday by Tom Wolfe Memorial Post #4207, Veterans of Foreign Wars, at Highways 37 and 60 and at Fifth and Cleveland. Donations to help veterans services.
