Springfield - Springfield Livestock Marketing Center : Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 05/16/2012

   Compared to last week, steer calves under 500 lbs sold firm to 5.00 higher,
all other classes steady.  While the heifers settled in steady to 5.00 lower.
Trading was active early on, but as orders were filled the buyers were not 
as aggressive.  All weights of Holstein steers steady except for under 400 lbs 
which were 5.00-8.00 higher on an excellent offering.  Supply was moderate and 
included 45 percent steers, 39 percent heifers, 11 percent Holstein steers, 
and 5 percent feeder bulls. Near 38 percent weighed over 600 lbs. Trade was 
active and demand moderate.
