Veterans remembered

Flags will be placed at the graves of around 1,000 veterans in Monett and nearby cemeteries by Hobbs-Anderson American Legion Post #91 in Monett, with assistance from local 'Boy Scouts, for Memorial Day.

Flags will be distributed at 4 p.m. on Friday at the IOOF, Oakdale, Cox and McCormick -St. John's cemeteries in Monett, as well as the Mt. Calvary, Waldensian and Kings Prairie cemeteries in rural Monett and cemeteries in the Purdy area.

The entrance of the Monett IOOF Cemetery will be decorated with flags, and extras for the gravesites placed at the entrance.
