Monett High School students will be out in the community on Wednesday for Volunteer Day, helping with community service projects at many locations.

The Bethel Cemetery Association will hold is three-times-a-year memorial service and business meeting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 27 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Purdy. Memorial contributions will be collected at the cemetery beginning on Friday afternoon, May 25, through Monday, May 28. Donations can be sent to Larry Lowery, 217 Fourth St., Monett MO 65708.

The annual meeting of the Calton Cemetery Association will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 28 on the cemetery grounds in rural Barry County.

The Arnhart Cemetery Association requests all flowers placed for Memorial Day be removed by June 11 to aid mowing.

The Dogwood Trail Garden Club of Shell Knob will hold hits annual Flower Show from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 2 at the Shell Knob Community Building. Admission is free.

Registration is underway for the third annual Fun in the Sun Festival in Aurora on June 2 at Oak Park. Spaces 10-by-10 feet are available with and without electricity. Deadline is May 23. For more information, call 417-229-2430.

Verona Sacred Heart Church will host its Summer Fest from 5 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 9. Food, games, bingo, drawings and live entertainment is planned. Sacred Heart is located at Second and Adams street in Verona. For more information, call 417-678-6930.

Monett's second annual Strawberry Festival will be held June 1 and 2 on Broadway in downtown Monett. Booth space for vendors can be reserved by calling Shaun Bennett at 417-772-7092.

Crowder College summer classes will run June 4 through July 27 at the Southwest Area Career Center, 2 David Sippy Drive in Monett. Intermediate or college algebra and CNA classes will be included. For more information, call 236-2895 or visit www.crowder.edu.

Community Blood Centers of the Ozarks will hold a blood drive from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22 at St. Mary's Catholic School in Pierce City.

The Pierce City Senior Center will host a dance with the Fun Timers Band at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 24.
