A Miller woman was among two people hurt in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 11:56 a.m. on Saturday near Springfield.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Robert Whittaker, 72, of Miller, was driving north on Highway 266 at Highway B, two miles west of Springfield, in a 2007 Honda Ridgeline when he failed to yield and made a left turn into the path of an eastbound 1998 Ford F150, driven by Kiara McCarthy, 21, of Springfield.
McCarthy and her passenger, Dorma McCroskey, 79, of Miller, received moderate injuries and were taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment. Both were wearing safety belts. Whittaker was not injured.
* An Aurora woman was hurt in a single vehicle crash at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday less than one mile east of Halltown. Jeanette Dean, 56, of Aurora, was driving west on Highway 266 when her 1998 Ford Windstar van struck a deer crossing the roadway. Dean's passenger, Elizabeth Rickman, 59, of Aurora, received minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital-Aurora for treatment. Rickman was wearing a safety belt, as was Dean, who was not hurt.
* A Cassville man was hurt in a single vehicle crash at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Jonathan Rabourn, 40, was driving north on Schifferdecker Road, one mile north of Joplin, when his 2010 Kia Optima traveled off the roadway and struck a tree. Rabourn and his passenger, Robin Struwe, 44, of Carol Junction, received minor injuries and were taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin for treatment.
