OFO concert and auction

Friday, May 18, 2012

(Photo)
A silent auction for art lovers is part of the fun planned for the Ozark Festival Orchestra's Pops in the Park concert at the Monett City Park Casino on Sunday. OFO board members Jane Rogers, at left, and Julie Waetke-Bishoff, at right, stand with some of the items that will be available. A pair of harp-backed chairs and other chairs and benches upholstered with music-themed fabric will be part of the auction, as well as music-themed pillows and hangings, like the treble cleft clock, at lower left. There will be art books, music recordings, wine and food baskets for specialty meals compiled from choices at Trader Joe's. The orchestra will serve homemade pies and ice cream as part of the admission price of $10 for adults and $5 for children. The music will include medleys of songs by Duke Ellington and the Beatles, folk music, marches and patriotic numbers. Doors open at 1:30 p.m., and the music starts at 2:15 p.m. This will be the final concert of the OFO's 32nd season. [Times Photo] [Order this photo]
