David Young, who has been serving as plant manager, has been named the new complex manager. Young has been with Tyson for more than 20 years. Previously, Young served in other management capacities in both live production and processing.
The Monett operation has not had a complex manager since Rusty Bowsher left five years ago.
Young has a master's degree in business administration from William Wood University. He recently served on the Monett Chamber of Commerce Board and was president of the Monett Industry Council.
Young and his wife, Stefanie, have three children, Ashton, Joby and Jake.
The Youngs reside on a small farm north of Easyville. Stefanie works as a teacher at Berean Christian Academy. The Youngs have been active in their church, school and community since moving to the area in 1993.
Richard Payne has been named the new live production manager at Monett. Payne has 27 years of experience in the poultry industry, beginning as a service technician for Hudson Foods. He returns to the area from Waco, Texas, where he served as production manager for Sanderson Foods.
Having grown up on a northwest Arkansas farm, Payne earned a bachelor's degree in poultry science from the University of Arkansas. He enjoys working with poultry growers and doing volunteer work.
Payne has a daughter who lives in Chicago, Ill., and works as an administrative assistant for AEG. His son is a senior airman for the United States Air Force working in Pearl Harbor as a computer programmer.
