Three injured in area crashes

A Shell Knob man was injured in a motorcycle crash that occurred at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday on Highway 39 in Shell Knob.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of a 2007 Kawasaki, Jeffrey A. Parker, 53, of Shell Knob, began to skid while trying to avoid another vehicle in an intersection and overturned.

Parker was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cassville with moderate injuries.

Other wrecks

* Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 2:55 p.m. on Tuesday on Interstate 44 at mile marker 58. The crash occurred when the driver of a 1998 Lincoln Navigator, Stacy L. Vaughn, 34, of Joplin, was forced off the roadway when another vehicle changed into the path of the Navigator. Vaughn and a passenger in the vehicle, Malachi Palmer. 8, were taken by ambulance to Cox Hospital South in Springfield. Both were wearing seat belts.
