Friday, May 11, 2012

An Indiana man was injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 2:50 a.m. this morning (Friday) on Interstate 44 about 11 miles east of Mt. Vernon.

The crash occurred when the driver of a 2004 International, Matthew C. Hawley, 41, of Pocahontas, Ind., struck a passenger car being towed by a 1999 Chevrolet 3500 bus, driven by Martin Pastor, 47, of Juarez, Mexico. The Hawley vehicle then ran off the roadway and overturned.

Hawley was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries. It is not known if Hawley was wearing a seat belt; Pastor was.
