Foreman Dave Dunn said collections have been about average. Brush pick-ups have been higher than usual, which Dunn attributed to warmer weather allowing more yard work. Dunn said the volume of carpet being disposed may be higher.
For the first time, households are limited in this year's collection to one dump truck load of debris. Dunn said his crews have been lenient in finding some borderline cases, but have not ticketed anyone to charge for a second hauling.
Crews will work the center of the city today and Monday, moving south as the week progresses. Dunn hoped to wrap up collections on Friday, May 11.
