Childress is also involved in football and Future Business Leaders of America.

Following high school, Childress wants to continue working in manufacturing and study engineering or business management.

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Agricultural mechanics design and fabrication entrepreneurship and placement is one of 49 proficiency award areas recognized at state level.
