FARMING BEAUTY

Wednesday, May 2, 2012

The month of May brings life beyond high school in sight for those about to graduate. Calendar girl Jessica Schad posed with her new John Deere tractor as she thinks about her future. The daughter of Greg and Lynn Schad, Jessica has had a busy senior year at Monett High School, serving as FFA chapter vice president. She is a four-year academic letterman and member of the National Honor Society. Outside of school, Jessica is a member of the Missouri Cattlemen's Association, Southwest Missouri Cattlemen's Association and the National Wild Turkey Federation. She is a member of the Monett Fire Department Explorer Post #2001 and a cadet with the Monett Rural Fire Association. Jessica works at Main Street Feed in Monett and is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Stones Prairie, where she volunteers in youth group activities and the weekly backpack program. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and showing Hereford cattle in livestock shows, including her prize-winning heifer, Lucy. Next fall Jessica plans to pursue a degree in agri-business at Crowder College and later Missouri State University.
