Purdy's Cody Hall made the most of his one hit in the Eagles' 5-2 baseball victory over Morrisville Tuesday night.

Hall hit his seventh round tripper of the season, a two-run bomb, to give Purdy breathing room in what was a one-run game.

"We battled all night," said Purdy coach Joshua Hughes. "Cody has been clutch at the plate all season. Reese (Stevenson) and Cameron (Terry) pitched exceptionally well. The key for us is to be ready for districts."

Tied 2-2 in the fourth inning, Hall walked with the bases loaded to break the tie and give Purdy the lead for good.

Stevenson improved to 7-2 as a starter on the mound. He pitched four innings, allowed five hits, one earned run and struck out seven. Terry earned his third save of the season. He pitched three innings, with no hits, no runs and struck out three.

The Eagles, 15-2 overall, travel Jasper on Friday. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
